Russell Morris of AGT Foods Canada Named Recipient of the 2024 STA Volvo Trucks Provincial Driver of the Year Award

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatchewan Trucking Association (STA) is thrilled to announce that Russell (Russ) Morris, a distinguished driver with AGT Foods, has been awarded the 2024 STA, Volvo Trucks Provincial Driver of the Year Award. The prestigious award was presented at the STA Gala and Awards Banquet, recognizing Russ’s nearly 70 years of dedicated service, unmatched professionalism, and leadership in the Saskatchewan trucking industry.
Russell Morris, Driver with AGT Foods Canada in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is the recipient of the 2024 STA VOLVO Trucks Canada Driver of the Year Award.
Starting his driving journey at a young age on the family farm, Russ’s passion for the open road has remained steadfast over the decades. With over 1.9 million kilometers logged at AGT Foods and an impressive record as a Driver Supervisor, Russ continues to be a pillar of expertise, commitment, and safety for the entire team. “You can set your watch by his arrival,” notes Trevor Hyde, General Manager at AGT Foods, Pulse Depot, underscoring Russ’s dedication and reliability.
When many look to slow down, Russ took on a new challenge at age 64, obtaining his Class 1A license and embarking on a new chapter in his career with AGT Foods. His exceptional driving skills and unwavering focus on safety have made him AGT’s first choice for specialized hauls, including a landmark assignment transporting three loaded 20-foot containers on a 12-axle, three-trailer configuration—an undertaking Russ completed with precision and care.
Trevor Hyde commends Russ as “irreplaceable,” noting that he goes above and beyond each day, embodying the values of safety and productivity. As a leader and mentor, Russ sets a gold standard for drivers throughout Saskatchewan.
