Programs

The STA provides a comprehensive range of programs tailored to enhance your skills and knowledge. These programs offer valuable designations and certifications that are essential in the trucking industry.

Certificate of Recognition

The COR training is designed to help an employer understand health and safety programs, while also allowing a designated employee to become an internal auditor.

Commercial Driver Instructor Certification

Partnered with SGI, our goal is to enhance the quality of Saskatchewan’s Mandatory Entry Level Training (MELT) by strengthening the skills of those teaching it.

Certified Transportation Safety Professional

The CTSP is a specialist designation that establishes the experience and knowledge required to be a certified safety professional.

PDIC & LVC Train the Trainer

This course is only available to STA members. The STA offers PDIC and LCV instructor courses to carrier companies so that they may certify in-house instructors to train and test their own drivers.

Certified Transportation Safety Coordinator

The CTSC is an entry-level designation. This certifies safety and compliance coordinators that have met the minimum standards of experience and knowledge.

PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES

Women Shifting Gears

Launched in partnership with YWCA Saskatoon and the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training. Women Shifting Gears was created to help address the gender gap in Canada’s trucking workforce, where only 4% of transport truck drivers are women. The program supports and empowers women to enter the industry through training and career development.
